About the Criminal Justice Program
Miami University’s regional campuses are pleased to announce our new Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice. Our new degree can be completed on the Hamilton and Middletown campuses and is designed to serve those who are interested in working within the police, courts, or corrections as well as those that are currently employed within the criminal justice system.
The Criminal Justice major focuses on the study of police, courts, and corrections. The program provides students with an in-depth analysis and evaluation of the fundamental organization, operations, and issues specific to the American criminal justice system. Graduates work as police officers, corrections officers, and in the fields of probation, parole and private security. All criminal justice courses are offered on Miami’s regional campuses.

The Criminal Justice Program extends the mission of the University by preparing individuals for a career in the criminal justice system. Faculty members of the Criminal Justice Program endeavor to provide superior teaching and scholarship in order to offer a high-quality learning environment for our students. Within this learning environment, students are encouraged to develop an extensive knowledge of current legal issues and trends in criminal justice, utilize this knowledge to serve and protect society, and critically analyze the current state of America’s criminal justice system. The Criminal Justice Program places particular emphasis on the ability to translate scholarship and knowledge into rational, guided, and ethical action within the field of criminal justice.
