Miami Regional Locations Host College Life Speaker
September 7, 2012
Miami University’s Regional locations will host TRU College Life speaker Julia Garcia on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 12:30 p.m. in Miami Middletown’s Campus and Community Center and at 5 p.m. in Miami Hamilton’s Wilks Conference Center.
Garcia will discuss the real life experiences and excessive partying that ultimately led to sexual assault and the death of her best friend. She brings poetry, up to date statistics, inspiring stories and empowering audience interaction to create a powerful message.
Garcia earned her B.A in Communications from the New York Institute of Technology where she was a scholar athlete on the soccer team, writer for the campus newspaper, reporter for the campus news station and president of the Woman’s Association. She is now the Creator and Co-Founder of Truality.org.
