Undergraduate Admission

Students talk together in VOALC lobby.The regional campuses have an open admission policy and different types of admission depending on students' post-secondary educational experience.

Students who begin attending Miami by taking courses at the Voice of America Learning Center are admitted as regional campus students through either Miami’s Hamilton or Middletown campuses. 

The information below provides general descriptions of the types of admission, and links to pages with more specific information and admission forms for the Middletown and Hamilton campuses.

First Time College Students

Students who have never taken college courses at another accredited university and plan to seek a Miami degree.  Students are admitted who have earned a diploma from a secondary program chartered by the state board of education, a General Educational Development (GED) diploma, or are alternatively educated (e.g. home schooled). Returning/Re-Enrolling Former Miami Students

Students who have attended any of Miami University’s campuses and completed a course for a final grade are considered returning former students, regardless of the length of time they have been away from the University.  Learn more about being a returning student at Miami University Regionals Admission website.

Students who have attended another accredited college or university after high school and have earned credit. Transfer students who have been enrolled in college in the last 2 years must have a 2.0 GPA or higher in their previous coursework.  Transfer students must submit an official transcript of all previous college work attempted. Transient Students

Students currently enrolled in another institution, or who have attended another college/university within the last 12 months, who wish to take courses at the Learning Center. Transient status is good for one semester at a time and students may not attend for two consecutive semesters. In addition to the application for transient status, a statement of good standing or an official academic transcript showing a minimum 2.0 accumulative GPA is required.
