Academic Advising

VOALC offers personalized academic advising services to current and prospective students. Tracy L. Davis, Student Services Coordinator, is available to assist with a variety of advising needs, including course scheduling, adding or dropping courses, changing majors and declaring thematic sequences, and more.  MBA students please see the MBA staff on site for all student resources.

Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment to learn more about academic programs and course offerings to them achieve their academic goals. Appointments may be scheduled by calling the Center at 513.895.8862.  MBA students please contact the onsite offices at 513.895.8876.

Academic advising is also available at Hamilton, Middletown, and Oxford.

Academic advising for MBA students is provided by the MBA office at the VOALC.

Books for VOALC Courses

Books for courses at the VOA Learning Center are ordered on line from Miami’s Middletown Bookstore and may be delivered to students’ homes, or held at Bookstore locations in Middletown, Hamilton, or Oxford for pickup.  They may also be purchased on site at the Middletown Bookstore.

Books for MBA courses are provided directly to students as part of the MBA program.

Bulletin

Miami University’s General Bulletin is available online with information about University policies, degree requirements, and more for undergraduate and graduate students.

Counseling

Students have access to personal and career counseling services at Miami’s regional locations.

Career counseling for MBA students is provide through the MBA program.

Course Schedules

Miami online course information has the most up-to-date available and covers all Miami locations.  You can also view Miami Regionals’ course schedules, including the schedule for classes at the VOALC.

DARS Reports

Directions to access DARS reports for undergraduate students is available at the Office of the Registrar 's website.

Enrollment Verification

Enrollment verifications for health insurers, credit issuers, housing providers and others seeking verification of student enrollment are handled online through the National Student Clearinghouse. The verifications/certifications printed from this secure site are official and need no further institutional signatures or seals.

Graduation

Relocation

Regional campus students wishing to relocate to Oxford after meeting all requirements can pick up a permit at the VOALC, or at the Hamilton or Middletown campuses, or at the Commuter Center in Oxford.  Student may also relocate from Oxford to one of the regional campuses.

Senior Citizens

Individuals who are 60 years of age or older and have resided in the state of Ohio for at least one year can audit any course without charge if permission is granted by the instructor and facilities are available. Any special course requirements or fees are the responsibility of the student. Formal admission and registration are not required. Smoke-Free Policy

Miami University has a smoke free campus policy – smoking at any Miami campus or facility is permitted in private vehicles only.

Miami has negotiated with an external provider for a student health insurance plan. 

Transcripts

Transcripts can be ordered online through the National Student Clearinghouse by following the instructions available from the University Registrar.

Transfer Credit

Miami’s Office of the Registrar evaluates all transfer credits, advanced placement, and non-traditional credits posted to student's academic records.  Articulation tables and program information that can be found on u.select are maintained to assist students in reviewing/previewing transfer credit information.
